I have a Targa and the top leaked like a seive (old seals on targa rear). When I called my mechanic to ask him if I should put aftermarket seals (cheaper than Porsche seals) on it to fix it, he said absolutely not. He said they (Porsche seals ) cost more but they actually fix the leaks; whereas the aftermarket do not. When I looked at my old seals, they turned out to be aftermarket and they were designed totally different on the inside than the new Porsche seal and from the design it is no wonder that they leaked. I am a happy camper now with my new, albeit expensive, Porsche seals and targa. Moral is don't mess with Porsche engineering.

My targa used to leak around the back upper corner of the window. But since I believe targas are sunny day cars, it was never an issue.

Has anyone tried one of the fiberglass targa tops offered on Ebay? I too am hoping to buy a targa, live in the northwest and am concerned about wind noise and leaks.
Thanks!
Paul.
