Default The duck's on!

I am so pleased with how this came out. The bodyshop did an amazing job prepping and color matching. For some odd reason I was never crazy about the way my 78 looked with the Carrera tail I bought a few months back. I haven't decided on graphics yet, most likely a subtle Black 9-1-1, I don't like the 911SC logo.

Next I'll buy a used 74 bumper section and do the Euro bumperettes to finish it off.

I had a Carrera RS decal modified for mine....instead of RS it says 3.2....No Bad Days grapics has made some that I know of...but his are a little thicker than mine.....you could put 3.0 on yours...You could also save some money and just do a bumperette delete if you wanted instead of euro bumper.

It's a Getty design from Rennspeed.

I like the way the bumberette "delete" looks. How hard is that to do? What's the law on license plate lights?

The hard part was getting the bumper off the car....It is really not very hard to do, there are several ways of covering the holes that are in the bumper, some use plastic plugs, some weld up the holes, I went with an easy fix since I didn't have access to an aluminum welder, I used fiberglass to fill the holes for two reasons, one its easy to work with and two....if for some unknown reason some future owner wants it stock he can easily drill out the glass. As far as tag lights, I don't know the legalities, there are several fixes for that as well...I don't drive too much at night so I am not overly concerned, that and the fact we have reflective tags in this state I am not too worried about getting pulled over.

Thanks. Where did you get your graphics, I tried to Google the company you mentioned and came up dry.

My state (WI) requires the rear license plate to be illuminated in white and to be visible from 50 feet. These license plate lights must go on with the headlights (wow, how weird am I?? I just looked up this law on our DMV website...). I wouldn't doubt CA is just as strict...and I bet you can find the same type stuff on CA's dept. of trans. website.

If you are a go to pelican board search for mikez.....he owns no bad days graphics....I had mine made locally....his are a little thicker font than mine....my brother had a Carrera RS decal I had the grapic place use the Carrera part...then I picked out the 3.2 font I liked from several he had to choose from.....if you go to pelican and seach for the same post as here you will see my brothers 993 with ducktail and his 3.6 graphic done at the same time.

Default nice

beautiful duck tail!
It really gives the car a sportier look without ruining the lines, I think the narrow bodied cars usually aren't suited to the whale tail.

I actually kind of like it with the bigger bumpers. It adds something other than the ducktail and reduces the ducktail's impact. Perhaps that is why people are chiming in that they like it. When you go to no bumpers or small bumpers, all you see is that ducktail, which does admittedly sort of stick out a little funny (IMHO) even though it is cool at the same time.

Love the tail, I agree the narrow body cars work better with the duck!
