Default Replacing 911 Fuchs with 944 dial wheels

I have two slightly bent Fuchs and I am thinking of going to 4 dail wheels that fit a 944.....I am also looking at some C2 wheels.....any tips? My car is a 1980 911sc with 16" Fuchs.

This is a good question. In the mid-eighties, didn't the 911 Carrera had phone dials as standard equipment, and Fuchs were optional? Were the phone dials special ofsets for the 911, or did they use the same offsets as the 944 or 951? Did they have special spacers?

Through 86 the 944 Phone Dials were available in 7x15, 7x16 and 8x16 sizes all w/ +23.3ET, Any of them can be used at either end of the car, but most people would want to use spacers in the back

My RoW came with Phone Dials and they are not the prettiest wheel on a 911. They look fine on a 928 or 944, but it just doesn't look right on the 911. However, they are very light. I have the 15 x 6/7s and when I put my 16" Fuchs it transformed the look of the car. I'm not sure about the 16 x 7/8 Phone Dial offsets and if it is specific to 911 or 944/951.

I have '92 C2 5-spoke wheels on my 84 Cab, looks nice, thinner spokes than the Cup 1's, etc.

#1 I'll buy your bent fuchs - especially if they are 16 x 6's

#2 yes, they did come with the phone dials.

#3 If I were you. I would look for some more fuchs - or bbs wheels that you can get refinished -

Here's my BBS track wheels -

Your vintage 911 should stay on Fuchs Forged Alloys. Don't switch to phone dials.

Put 7s in front, and at least 8 in back,--or 9s if you can swing it.

Sounds like you have decided to go back to the Fuchs, but as a datapoint, I have 15x7 Phone dials as track wheels (not pictured-these were 15x6 fuchs). They fit fine on my early car. Since I have no rear flares I was required to bend the wheel lips, but you would have no such difficulties.

g-50, curious about your interest in the 16x6 fuchs. I have 4 of them. Let me know...!

Yea....my mechanic said the bent wheels are not serious and can be straightened. I like the idea of 8" on the back.....I have 6'' on front (they are the slightly bent ones) and 7" on the back.
Thanks

My 83 SC came with phone dials but I was not happy with the look. I think Fuchs look much better on a 911

I need two more 16 x 6" Fuchs for my narrow '77 911 to have a complete set.

Right now I'm running the 14" Fuchs that came with my car.
