Thats a damn big snail on the front of that thing, what does it boost? Other than the tires (and I'm sure the whine under the hood) its a complete sleeper. Very Nice, I like sleepers, here is mine
Its a 92 GTI, with a 2.8 VR6, Schrick cams and Variable Geometry intake, and a slightly smaller snail (Vortech V9) pushing 9PSI, good for around 350 at the crank, not as powerful as yours, but weighs a scant 2100 LBS

Right now Im looking at 18 psi through a "meh" efficiency intercooler. Novi 2000 blower is capable of about 28 to 30psi and 900rwhp.
nice VW. Back in 88 my mother had a 16v Golf GTI that I thought was pretty cool.

Dude..... STAY WITH A 911...
I have had 2 S4's.. and they were the WORST money pits I have ever had. Youll come out better and cehaper with a 911. I will NEVER own a nother 928.

Powertech is seling that car, and they are a highly respected shop here in Northern New Jersey. They support the NNJR of PCA, hold a lot of tech events, and are the shop of choice for (it seems) half the car club. I would buy from them with confidence...they wouldn't sell a crap car and hurt their reputation.
That car also happens to be a very nice SC. It's the right color, the Fuchs ar in great shape, and the general condition appears to be very nice for a 24 year old car. The price also seems very good for a car in that condition, color, and with those options. Tire mismatches on a car that characterstically wears rears 2x as fast as fronts are relatively common. Contrary to what someone else said, that spoiler (Turbo Tail) was the only "whale tail" available back in 82 (Carrera tail came out with Carrera in 1984)...it is what dealers put on the cars back in the day when customers were looking for the "Jr. 930" look.
As a disclaimer...I do not work for, or even have my car serviced by Powertech, though they are nice enough guys. Sice they are a shop, you may want to have another shop do the PPI. You could try Autohaus in Chatham, or check the NNJR PCA site (Google it) for other local PCA shops. Good luck!

Quadcammer,
I have an 80 SC and have owned, maintained, modified, tracked, and driven it on the street for 4 years. Great cars, easy to work on, easy to understand. I paid 14.8k for my car with 95k miles and a lot of recent work including new clutch and AC. I think 13.5 is high for this car. I would want to see its service history, have a PPI done including a leakdown and compression test, and a thorough test drive with someone else who knows SCs.
It is good that it appears to be at "Rally Height", which probably means it has not been seriously tracked. Most people start lowering them after a couple of D.E.s.
Try to be patient and make sure it is as it seems.
