Default I dont suppose anyone knows this guy:

I most likely got robbed by this guy on the pelican boards. I was anxious and too trusting. Bad me.

Email Information:
Martino Madrone <daporscheguy@yahoo.com>

When sending him money, he provided this info to send to:
Stefano Miraglia
4389 Mentone St
San Diego CA
92107

If you know this person, please contact me at s.ody@comcast.net.

Our email thread is below if you care to read (most recent at the top)
I last heard from him on 10/31/06...
-------------------------------------------------

Hey Steve dont be paranoid. I just got back after spending 4 days with my friend. We more or less have taking over the care of him and its been really stressfull. I had my friend take it to be shipped and will get the number from him.

Hi,

Hate to be paranoid here, but I haven't heard anything from you.
I will need confirmation that you shipped the tail sometime before
end-of-day tuesday.

At this point I am out $700 (including western union charges) and will
have to start considering
my options for recovering the money if I don't hear from you.

Thanks for understanding,
-Steve

You probably lost your money with no way to get it back. A recommendation in the future though... NEVER use Western Union, as you as the buyer have ZERO ability to try and getyour money back. Western Union will even tell you that if you dont know who you are sending money to, then dont. A WU transfer is final.

I would say it might be time to make a visit

I think its time to round up the troops and pay him a visit. Did you post this up on pelican too? I never send money orders, use paypal or a credit card that you can dispute and get your money back.

I can do a background check on him and see if I can get you more info. PM if you still need some info. Also, I have PCA buddies in SD who may be able to help out as well. AJ

I wonder if yahoo would be able to give you any info about the IP address used to setup that account... Might be worth a try since he probably didn't give you his real name...

Good luck!

Well if he has not written you since October, as you already realize, your money is gone. Paying a visit might work, however it could also be dangerous. You might want to try this first.

I had someone rip me off for a laptop ($1200). I paid via Paypal, but never recieved it. Paypal did nothing to protect me. I hounded the guy forever until one day I thought to call the local police where he lived. They went to his house and picked the guy up! They took his computer to see if he was scamming anyone else as well. They then called me up to see if I wanted to press charges or if I wanted him to pay me by the next day or they haul him away. Sure enough, next day I got my money back and also sure enough, he had scammed a few people, not just me.

Anyway, that is what I did. Good luck to you, I know this all sucks.
