I had my '84 Carrera shipped from Philly to Milwaukee by Intercity Lines. I would highly recommend them. The transaction was very fast and flawless. They took great care of my car.

$1070 for the shipping, door to door.

I'd avoid having any nice car go through a shipping terminal. I've read that is where a lot of damage to cars can happen.

Intercity specializes in coast-to-coast shipping (east-west & return). Another excellent transporter to consider when comparing the top tier is Reliable.

I've used both and their rates are quite comparable. Service are outstanding too.

I used Thomas Sunday 2 yrs ago. I had a Spyder shipped from Muncie to Los Angeles. The cost was $1200 (covered carrier / Spyder on top / no terminals or stops where the Spyder was moved once loaded). The cost of transporting the 911 from Kansas City to LA a couple of weeks ago was $1500 via Thomas Sunday. I have also heard good things about Intercity.

I have used DAS once. Sounds like the quote was for uncovered transport. It is more to have it covered and put above the other cars. DAS is okay. Very slow. It took 2 weeks to get my 911 from Florida to Michigan. It arrived on scheduele and I was not in a hurry so that was okay. It was worth it to me to save the money and wait the extra time.

I used DAS from San Diego to Atlanta.. slow for sure.. you can pay more for expedited service though.. they do have a satelite system where you can literally track your car while it's on the truck. It was a couple weeks for delivery.
