Post Fuchs wheel question

Hello to all!

I want to ask if anyone know for sure from what
material the early Fuchs wheels was made (14x5.5) from an early 911/912.I want to weld some small dents in my wheels and I want to know the correct material to use.

Thank you for your input,
Jim Andritsakos

They're cast Magnesium alloy and they're the lightest factory wheels Porsche ever sold. I don't believe you can forge Magnesium, but it really casts well. Excellent flow properties.

I'm sorry, I didn't read the post. WHen I saw someone called forged magnesium I was thinking of a magnesium wheel Porsche sold briefly. These wheels should be the Fuchs forged aluminum wheels.

Cool

There is a company in Newton Ma that can fix them for you. Called Rim and Wheelworks, 800-261-0495.
I have used them for years (I'm in the auto service business) and can tell you they are the best. Good luck. <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />
