I have the Escort 8500 X50. It has saved my butt on more occasions than I want to admit. I bought it at Performance Products when they were having a 15% off sale. The list price, IIRC, was $300. With the discount I paid $255. Money very well spent.

Have an Escort 8500 X50 (blue LED). While it performs excellent (I've had quite a few different detectors in the past), I don't know how it compares to the Valentine.... which is supposed to be very good as well.

I have the Escort 8500 X50 as well. I purchased mine with the red LED display because it was $40 less than the blue LED!!!!! This was at Best Buy. I have been very pleased with it's performance and extremely impressed with it's range. It has paid for itself several times over.

Just as a sidebar, has anyone else noticed the the Escort Passport is sold in packaging that is about half the size of the packaging for the rest of their model's but in reality is not any smaller? It is very misleading. They certainly make it look a lot smaller than it really is in their advertisements.
