I have just received an E-mail from the USA from Mary Moder informing me that my dear friend Jim Moder passed away on the 8th October 2006.
Jim was a former President of the now defunct PCA-Germany Region. Jim was one of the friendliest 944, 951 and 911 people I have ever had the honour to know. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him and respected him.
James T. Moder, age 53, of Pickerington, formerly of Oakland, N.J., passed away Sunday, October 8, 2006. He was born April 10, 1953 to Thomas D. and Barbara M. Moder (Ridle) in Jamaica, N.Y. He attended N.Y. University and proudly served in the U.S. Army Finance Corp for over ten years. He spent most of his adult life living in Germany where he was an avid Porsche Club enthusiast. He was currently employed by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Columbus.
He is survived by his daughter, Erin; his parents; sisters Karen (Richard) Arnesman; Melinda (Charles) Messineo; Marianne (Charles) Aikey; brother Glen (Kelly) Moder; and thirteen nieces and nephews.
A memorial service, officiated by Dr. Carl Wiley, will be held Monday, October 23 at 4 p.m. at the Dwayne-Spence Funeral Home in Canal Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. at www.diabetes.org
RIP Jim.
