Default Rekeying a Porsche

So should I just get any ole locksmith to come and rekey my 87 911 Carrera or should I go through Porsche/Porsche mechanic to get a specific porsche door lock and key?? Any advice?

yeah try and fix your old one, find out what happened . I took mine all to pieces and put it back together. thereis a small locking lever inside the door up by the lock that keeps the whole thing together, maybe it just fell apart ?

If the locks/keys are original Porsche will 'make' you a lock to match - all they require is the VIN. They will also make keys - on site - from the VIN.
