Default Fuel Gauge problem?

Has anyone else experienced a problem with your fuel gauge registering just fine until it gets down to 1/2 tank, and then who knows what until the low fuel light comes on. The low fuel light is coming on at the right time, but nothing between 1/2 and almost "E". This is on an 83 cab.

How big/small of a job is it? Any "watch out for this" items?

Thanks

very simple.. almost embarassingly simple. disconnect the battery to be on the safe sid e.. well okay I didn't. lift the front carpet in the cargo area , take the electrical connector off, undo about 6 nuts on the sender, ..remove and install new sender with new gasket..

Sweet. I haven't looked yet. Do you remember how much the unit was?

Pelican has them for $108 plus $4.00 for a gasket. I'm sure you can find them cheaper if you shop around.
