Hi All,
I am relatively new to the market, but am strongly considering a 1975 911S coupe. 82K miles, looks to have a few very minor issues--otherwise in good shape. Ask is in the $18K range. Can anyone help shed some light here?!?!
Thanks,
Adam

Adam:
The August 2006 issue of Excellence had the following numbers for a ’75 911:
Coupe:
Low = $10,972
Good = $12,475
Excellent = $16,700
Targa:
Low = $11,155
Good = $12,863
Excellent = $16,978
Carrera:
Low = $15,177
Good = $17,256
Excellent = $23,100
The market evaluations usually add +10% for low mileage (< 7,000 ? miles/year) and up to 10% for extensive documentation. As alway is the case, a pre-purchase inspection by a well qualified Porsche mechanic is mandatory.

That sounds like a 10K car, max, in my opinion. And that's if it's had the right kind of rebuild done. Those Excellence figures strike me as being on the high side.

I agree, too high. I bought a 1975 911S 2.7L, matching number car in really nice condition inside and out, with 77,000 miles in 2000 and paid $11,300.00. Keep looking, people love to put the 1974-1977 cars down for thier magnesium case problems, etc... so you can usually find them inexpensively.
When it does melt down, you can build a righteous 3.6 conversion that will stomp...
hope this helps,
