I heard from people who know him that he is very difficult to work with. People at a certain Porsche event that he attended said he made the event very difficult. Which is to bad, but I never pass a judgement until I meet a person in person.

What would he know.... if you make hundreds of millions of dollars you can easily buy millions of dollars worth of Porsches?

How could a simple spectator make the event difficult?

I am sure the guy is just a fan like we are , and I am sure he is pressured to do appearances , speaches and bring his cars, cut the guy some slack, he can't just casually show up and look around like we do. Mind you I wouldn't mind just sowing up and looking at his cars :-) he has some real nice examples I have heard.

Good for him !

Sure he can. About 3 years ago I saw him wandering around at the big VW show in Irvine CA. He had a couple of friends with him, and no one was bothering him.

I don't know him, but I've also heard from people who were involved with a car he wanted to buy that he is difficult. From the description it sounded like he was just a normal New Yorker -- trying to interact with people in smaller cites on the laid back left coast...

However, Jay Leno has the reputation of being a strling example of a just another fan.. regular guy, yada yada, despite riches & fame. I heard he only has one Porsche though.

How amazingly ignorant might someone actually be to suspect that anyone here with the ability to contact ANY famous person would simply give up that contact information to an absolute stranger?

Whaddyanutz?

Jerry Seinfeld made a surprise appearance at the Central PA Porsche Only Swap meet in Hershey a few years ago. At that time, he was a very gracious person
and I doubt there has been any change.

Steve

My personal observations are the exact opposite.
At the previously stated VW show, Jerry was checking out a very nicely restored VW Rometch (50s aluminum body coach built 2 seater convertible). This particular car was owned by Eric Meyer (Simple Shoes) and was easily worth in excess of $60-70k. It was clear that Jerry was interested in owning such a car. He asked Eric if it was for sale. Eric replied that it was not for sale. Jerry didn't try to insult Eric with $, instead he just commented that he liked the car.
