Post Weltmeister Cambermeister

Has anybody had problems with this strut brace on 3.2 cars? After instalation and a short test drive my left strut sheared off. ( see earler post). My new Bilsteins are coming and am not shure if I want to use this brace again. This is the type that also bolts to the large nut on the strut its self and the two bolts on the strut tower.

I used the Weltmeister strut bar on my 81SC (basically the same suspension as your 3.2 Carrera) with Bilstein inserts for several years, which included 15+ track days each year, with no problems.

I have the same experience as Bill. I have used a Cambermeister/Bilstein Sports on a '84 Carrera for 3 years (10 track days per year) with no adverse results.

Could your problem be related to excessive pre-load on the cross bar?

There was very little preload on the crossbar. Just a very slight pressure by hand towards negative camber. And a mean very slight pressure. I guess I had a bad strut, I am very thankfull that it didn't happen at the track. Thanks for your input.
