Cool Bits which will fit onto my SC motor base

Hi,
I recently bought a 911SC motor which has a snapped head stud (nothing new there), I am looking at the possibility of turboing it... but I was wondering:
1) Where do I get racewear studs from?
2) What other heads will fit onto the stock barrel and piston? Twin plug heads from 964?
3) What would be a worthwhile upgrade of cams for this motor?
4) Would I need to change the barrels aswell as pistons if I fitted 3.0 930 forged pistons to it taking into account that my barrels are in good condition...
5) How different is the 930 injection system to that of the stock SC? I know that the meatering head is larger.... what else?

Thanks in advance

MG

964 heads will NOT work on your 3.0L motor. A good cam grind to use would be the Webcam 20/21 performance grind for ~15HP increase over stock...a larger throttle body helps this out as well, check with Bieker Engineering in California, they did mine.

The biggest "bang for the buck" in my opinion is when I converted to an Electromotive HPV-1 ignition setup, single plug - it really woke that 3.0L up!

I got my Racewear products through Engine Builders Supply in Nevada, but several other P-Car parts distributers carry Racewear products.

The 930 injection, barrels and pistons are VERY different from those on an SC 3.0L - the route you're choosing would be "less bumpy" if you just purchase a Turbo 3.0L.

I would consider several other upgrades to an SC before you turbo or supercharge, that is my opinion, and guess what...I've had them all!

Unless you want a constant headache from supercharging or turbocharging a motor that wasn't meant to be, stick with the proven, reliable upgrades.

Try and pick up an issue of "911 and Porsche World" over there if you can, I notice they have a lot of ads for U.S. Porsche parts suppliers, an old copy of Panorama (PCA Mag) would be very helpful to you as well along with Excellence Magazine. <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

Cool

Jeff,
Thanks for the info. I think I'll just rebuild it as stock... maybe a few small upgrades and wait until I can upgrade to a 993TT motor.
