Default Help identify steering column part.

I am replacing my turn signal switch and as I pulled off the black steering column covers this little washer fell out (pic 1). The only place where I could fit it (pic 2) is on the shaft right behind the splines for the steering wheel.

Any other ideas? Thanks.

That's exactly where it goes! It's the stop for the steering wheel...
