Default Correct bulb number for SC turn signals?

Went to replace a burnt outturn signal buln in my SC and discovered that I have 2 different bulbs in each. One is the Osram 7528, the other is the Sylvania 1157. The 1157 is noticeably brighter. Please advise as to which is the correct bulb. Thank you in advance!

My apologies to those wondering what a burnt out signal "buln" is - I should have used the spellcheck!

Depends on what turn signal assembly you have. On the SCs the turn signal and parking light bulb are 2 separate bulbs, w/ the turn signal being a 21W and the parking light being a 5W bulb. I believe that in '84 w/ the 3.2 Carrera Porsche started using the newer style front turn signal assembly which combined the 2 bulbs using a single dual-filament 21/5W bulb, same one that the brake lights use. Your car probably got the updated turn signal assys at some point. Anyway the 7528 is a 21/5W, while the 1157 is listed as a 27W, which is why it's brighter. At my shop we use 21/5W, I'd go w/ the 7528.
