valve covers - beaded or silicon coated; 1985 911
I'm planning to do valve adjust soon and would like comments/suggestions on valve gaskets. Application is non-turbo, street driven.
Beaded sounds good but I don't really have a problem with leaks. Is silicon coated ok ? Use Permatex sealer ?
Also I see Reinz, OEQ, Wrightwood, and OEM kits. Any better or stay away from ?
Thanks

I use the silicone beaded gaskets and have no complaints. Permatex silicone sealant has always "oozed" a little oil, and while it could never be called a leak, it always looked a little dirty.

I second Pete's recommendation and say go w/ Wrightwood. We use their gaskets on all cars, 911, 356, 914, etc. Unfortunately I think they only sell wholesale but I think you can call them and find out who can sell them to you.
Pete, I wish you'd given the no-glue advice to whoever adjusted the valves last on a 911 I worked on a few weeks ago, spent almost an hour scraping!
