Default What is this part called?

Hi Gang,

This might be a silly question but I was just wondering if anyone know what this part is called.
I couldn't find it in the Porche parts catalogue.
It is a black plastic rectangular block that looks like some kind of a control unit or sensor of some kind plug upside down into the bottom of the engine. It is located in between two oil return tubes. It is about 1" wide, 2" long and 1" thick.
I have a 1987- 911 carerra.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

cheers
youngatheart.
