Distributor Problem: no mechanical advance
It seems the distributor on my '81 SC has quit mechanically advancing. The vacuum advance and retard both function correctly, but the mechanical advance is stuck. Does anyone have an exploded view of the distributor? I think it's part number 930.602.021.06. Also, is this something I want to get into and try to lubricate and replace springs??

Remove your dist. cap. Pull off the rotor. You will see a small felt pad. Remove this. Now fill the center of the shaft with a good penetrating oil and let sit over night. Put the rotor back on and try to twist the advance back and forth. May need to let it sit longer if it is siezed too bad but should loosed it up for you.
