Default Love my '87 even more now...

After almost five months of planning with Steve Weiner of Rennsport Systems, I drove 600 miles north to Portland to have my car's suspension and brakes upgraded. Jeff Gamroth and his crew did the work. This is what I had done:

Install Elephant polybronze bushings front/rear
Install 22/29 mm Sander Torsion bars
Install turbo tie rods
Install bump steer kit
Install Bilsein Sport shocks and strut inserts
Install WEVO chromemoly sway bar consoles
Install Smart Racing sways front/rear
Install drilled rotors, new pads, Teflon hoses, ATE Blue fluid
Replace front wheel bearings/seals
Install strut tower brace
4 wheel alignment, corner balance

I'm quite a bit lighter in my wallet, but it's worth every penny. The car handles/stops excellently. The quality of the install work impeccable. Thanks, Steve! Thanks, Jeff!

Any chance that you can give me a ballpark figure as to how much all of this cost you?
I just bought a '87 coupe over the weekend and am very interested in improving the handling (it feels like a truck at low speeds!).

PM me if you'd like. Thanks!

I basically did almost the exact same thing with my suspension (along w/ 930 brakes) a few years ago, and it's amazing how an almost 20 yr. old car is transformed with these changes/upgrades. I too followed Steve's advice (can't go wrong there) but did all the work myself....it is something that a DIY guy can do, but even then it's a bit pricey...I don't know the total $ (I just don't go there)....

I also did a lot of what you did to your car, also at the advice of Steve Weiner at Rennsport Systems. It IS amazing how much better the car feels with a properly set-up suspension. It went from feeling like an antique, to being a sports car. It was a lot of money (at least relative to the value of the car itself) but the car is such crap with the stock suspension, the upgrades are neally a necessity. Steve is a class guy...I highly recommend him!

Fasteddie99,

Would you please send me a similar PM. Very interested in getting more info about suspension upgrades for my 911. If it is anything like the improvements a new suspension did for my Bimmer, it would be worth the money.
