Post Heated Seats Not Working

I have an 1985 Carrera 3.2 with Electric/Heated Front Seats. The electric movement works perfectly on both the seats, but unfortunately neither the driver's seat or passenger's seat heats up when the heater button is pressed.

Is there a relay or fuse that could have failed?

Is this a common problem?

Any ideas what I should look for? Is there a wiring diagram I can get hold of?

Many thanks,
Richard.

I can't desribe the whole system for you but the best way to check this is to unbolt one seat and lay it back but do not unplug anything yet . Follow the wiring under the seat and you should find one group of wires that runs to the back of the seat and it looks like it runs up into the seat cushion . Unplug this connector and with a test light check to see if you are getting power to the connection . ( Don't forget to turn seat heater on when testing )This will eliminate everthing up to that point if you show power at the connector. My money is on the elements being burned out , they are nothing more than a toaster wire sandwiched in a cloth jacket. Good luck
