Are there any owners of old MBZ out there?

They guy next to us in the business complex (Inglewood) has a vintage 56 Benz ragtop that needs some service and attention.
I'm not certian of the model, but it looks alot like the Gullwing of that era.
it could be a very cool car, but it needs a bit of help.
It was his fathers' from new until the day he passed back in the 70's. It has been sitting for most of the time since then, but now he wants to bring it back to proper running condition.
Anyway, he's looking for a reliable shop in the Los Angeles area (Valley to South Bay, possibly even Orange County) that is familiar with these older models.
If anyone out there has some contacts that I can pass along, I would appreciate it.
I wouldn't worry too much now about their distance from him, as right now he has nobody.
Regards,

If it's a 300SL roadster, in pristine restored condition it'll be worth around $300,000. If it's just a 190SL, then only $30-50,000. Sorry, can't help with shop recommendation, but I would love to have one of these.

It's probably a 190, as it has a 4 cylinder motor.
I would drive it every day if it were mine, but I would first make it reliable.
Nothing is worse than breaking down in a nice car.
