Post I'm BENT!

As I have a bent 17" x 7" 993 Cup II wheel, I'm looking for shops on the East Coast that specialize in straightening them.

The wheel is one of my coveted YELLOW powdercoated track wheels...I'd like to find a solution that won't gouge up the powdercoated finish too bad - is this an unreasonable expectation??

If you know of a place on the East Coast, maybe even the Mid-West, please let me know!

Ditto on Ye Ole Wheel Shop.

Have been there and used them....great job!

By the way...they don't look like much if you go there.

You can transact via fedex.

Cool, I have heard of them from a Rennlister on the 964 board...emailed back and forth a few times with him and told me that they use a lot of good 'ol fashioned "BANGING" at the Ye Ole Wheel Shop.

I dunno much about straightening wheels, but I'm hoping to find a "gentler" solution that uses presses and 2 x 4s or something??

I have a lot of work into these wheels and it'll take TONS of time to bead blast the present powdercoating off of them to refinish.

I will give them a call, what can it hurt...then I can get the full story from them.

Thanks for the tip...any others out there?

A couple of the lug holes on my Fuchs track wheels had been damaged before I got them. I had the Wheel Collision Center put in steel inserts (they said they do it all the time) and they did an excellent job - It's difficult to tell which were repaired and which are original.

If you take your wheel to them, as I did, get VERY SPECIFIC directions - I trusted www.mapsonus.com and ended up wandering around for close to an hour even after I was within a couple of miles of their shop.
