Who are the best Porsche shops in NY NJ CT?
After finding 7 broken head studs, I am looking to find a good shop to repair my 81 SC. Any suggestions?

Rennwerke in Elmsford NY hands down. Cheech is the only person I trust with my car and I think a lot of people feel the same way... He took great care of my 83 sc and now my 993 C4S www.rennwerke.com

i 2nd rennwerke..cheech is great..i live in nc now and speak to him all the time.my friend bought a 87 911 and he takes his car to cheech and loves him also..my accountant goes to cheech too...they all love him and his staff..j

Me either. He cost me a DE at Lime Rock back in 1996 with my old SC. He didn't let it pass tech inspection, which infuriated my usual mechanic who looked at the car the following Monday. Of course, I moved out west the next weekend (college grad) and neevr got to drive on the track. It still ticks me off to this day.

Believe it or not, I keep EVERYTHING related to my Porsches. I found my old SC file this evening, and found the paperwork from that Rennwerke visit in 1996. It included a business card for John A. Fernandes (President) and a blank inspector sheet (not completed by Rennwerk.) I attached a note which said "Rejected for too many reasons." I then added "Vincent says everything ok. That guy is nuts" Vincent was my mechanic and owner of "My Garage" in Naugatuck, CT (another certified CVR technical inspector)...
Looking back, I have no doubts that Rennwerke was "keeping it real" by telling me my car was a "beater". It would also make complete sense that Vincent took my defense as he was just a good guy. I'm just mad I never got to drive at Limerock. Believe me, it is one of the items on my next 3 year plan...
