I have a '76 911 I am putting together for track use. Does anyone have anyone have any suggestions for good race tire/wheel combos. I have 11" flares in the rear and 9" up front. With my brake set-up I'm thinking 17 or 18" wheels.

These are 9.5x11x17 Lindsey Racing Fuchs with 275/315 tires.

The specific tire you use would be determined by your experience and the type of tracking/racing you're doing.

I agree with Jack that Lindsey Racing makes some of the best looking, high quality wheels on the market. I am also planing a significant size change in my wheels. Other wheels to think about are Kinesis, Fikse, Jongbloed, and BBS. I prefer the look of the Lindsey wheels with a strong second going to Kinesis. Jack uses as big a tire as can fit under those flairs. You may not need something that wide if you have a very light car.

Yeah, Lindsey isn't the only game going by a long shot. If you like the look of Fuchs, then it's a cool solution to have wheels with Fuchs centers. But it's a compromise, relative to the really good modern racing wheels available. If I weren't so devoted to my car looking a certain way, I'd have 18's for track days in even wider sizes than I'm currently running.
