burning smell

Talking burning smell

after about 30 miles,i smelled something burning...the smell is on the left side of the engine.the temp. gauge is fine so i dont know...the heat and ac are off...not running anything but the car.one thing maybe,i used a cleaner on the wing,and maybe it has leaked into the engine..i am not a technician,so i know zip..any thoughts ..thanks,j
ps..just turned 99,000 and is still a blast..

Depends on the burning smell really

elecrical, vs , something on the exhaust , vs wheel bearing/ brake pads , are all very different burning smells. More info may be helpfull.. can you atatch a smell byte ....

I can't tell you how many times a customer pulled into the shop with a plastic bag stuck to the catalytic converter. This thread sounds familiar...

I referenced you in another post , I hope you saw it . Someone wanted to know what else to do while the engine was out and I know you usually have a " grocery list" .
