Default Should the same VIN appear throughout the car?

Facts:

VIN on Door Jam = US Market
VIN in Bonnet = "ZZZ" Grey Market
Apart from the "ZZZ," the VINs are the same.

Question:
Should the VIN numbers be the same or does the presence of the "ZZZ" VIN in the bonnet be cause for concern?

Also, the US Market VIN appears on, what I think is called the A pillar, where the front windshield meets the door frame.

Thanks in advance for your comments,

Rob

For some reason, the US-spec Carreras had ZZZ VIN's in the trunk compartment. I freaked out when I discovered this on my ex-'87, until I found out that this was the way they all were.

All the tubs were ZZZ until a delivery destination was determined. By the time the plate was put on, that had been decided, and the appropriate country code was added.

Boot, not bonnet. The bonnet is the hood that goes up and down.
