Default hardwire V1?

Hardwire the V1 or keep it plugged to the lighter....I'm not crazy about splicing into factory wiring of a 20 year old car so I might just keep her plugged in.

Sheesh - hard wire the sucker; who needs goofy power cables hanging down the windscreen? Just find an ignition-on hot lead and tie into that. Start back at the fuse panel if you're concerned about tapping into existing wiring. These cars ('till the 964's) are an electrician's nightmare - not that the electricals aren't reliable; just antiquated.

Personally, I couldn't care less about messing with the wiring on my Carrera. I ran the power cable behind the windscreen rubber flange, over the visor and clip the V1 to the passenger visor just to the right of the mirror. Pretty stealth all around, particularly with the remote panel in use.
