Like the man said, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever". These cars are organic perfection cast in metal. We stare, caress and look back over our shoulders--such is our lot in life. No substitute indeed.

Others look at your car too, you will get stares from somone in a much nicer and newer car, and they are thinking "I wish I was driving that". Do you know why? Because your car is cool, thats why.

If you'd told me years ago that one day I would have more pictures of my 911 than any other thing I owned (or of any person I knew, for that matter), I would have said you were crazy.

I mean, it's just a car, right?

Default Phew! It ain't only me!

I think my neighbors are really getting irked with me. When I come home I wheel her into the garage, leave her engine running, get out, shut her door and walk part way down the slope of my driveway so I can look up at her from a low angle 3/4 view (just barely able to peek under her skirt) and listen to her idle. The SSI's w/2 in/2out muffler sound so sweet reverberating off the garage walls (thus, the irked neighbors).

I usually catch myself self consciously bobbing & weaveing slightly, as if I'm maybe looking for something that's wrong, in case a neighbor is glaring out a window at me. Sometimes I'll suddenly stand up real straight and scratch my head in mock puzzlement (again, in case a neighbor is glaring) as I give it one long last look for the day.

Then I walk slowly back up the driveway, open her door, shut her down and walk into my house, looking back at her over my shoulder as she sits there softly cracking & snapping, smiling back up at me!

Glad to find out that I'm not (the only on that's) nuts!

And, Jack - if our cars were indeed living, organic entities, I'd like you to know that if your Black Beauty is a male, I'd pay you a handsome stud fee to let him have his way with my Ella if I could keep just one of their offspring for myself!

I pat Brown Car in the IROC tail every time I get in the other car, take out the garbage or run out there to get a tool ....

He likes it.

Default I have always done this with my cars

I have only owned my car since April, but in that time I sure have done more mindless errands just to drive. In fact I suspect my other car the m3 is getting jealous.
