Default Original '73 RS for sale

No affiliation, just thought this was pretty cool to stumble across - a real piece of history. . .

The yellow and green is SO '70s, but I'd still commit major criminal acts for that car even so. . .

I am bidding on that car. If you could point me to some of the boards that indicate it is a fake I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks

If it's not a fake, it's a real shame to have an early (first 500) RS with the lightened metal panels and a Sunroof!?

That's why eBay is crazy Caveat Emptor....what serious collector with that kind of dough would ever toss an extremely expensive car onto eBay? Why wouldn't he just sell the car privately and avoid paying fees, taxes, etc, etc, etc...Not to mention the fact that a proper Porsche collector would do a bunch of homework and know the car...I guess he is fishing for a sucker, which is probably why I won't ever look at eBay as a good car buying resource.

Cole, I agree, but have noted many dealers & individuals using ebay as an advertising channel for spl interest cars (as opposed to expecting to close a sale) by setting a defensively high reserve.

I'm just amazed at how aggressive the seller is about claiming it's real. I remember eBay listings for Speedster kit cars which were very careful in telling the truth, but leaving you thinking it's real. There it was only a single factor (albeit critical) being withheld. Here this guy is all out saying it is real. Note also the high bidder of "too good to be true." How ironic is that? Or is that someone trying to warn people!!!!!

Or, is this not even a car he owns, but someone trying to scam funds?

A Question sent to the Seller:

Are you aware that this car is a fake replica? The experts have already analyzed it. Do you think you will be able to hide from the lawyers and from the California Attorney General?

I dare you to post your answer to this ...

What is interesting is actually reading the discussions on pelican parts as well as early911registry. Now I really want to know whether this car is real or not as either way it is going to produce as excessive amount of drama. Hopefully we will find the truth soon.

Well, after reading the comments on a couple of other boards regarding the car and checking a little deeper, there is certainly enough question to create "reasonable doubt". I know I certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to plop down $150k for it.

I wonder if someone could offer to pay with a $10M Nigerian cashier's check, have him ship the car and offer to let him keep $2M of it.

Bummer that car is likely a fake. I suppose I should know better than to trust anything on Ebay.

As posted on Pelicanparts - it seems the car is a bit less expensive in Europe...
