Hello Gents,
I have a 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera. I just did the 60K mile service. New:
Spark Plugs, Wires, Distrib. Cap, Rotor, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Belts. Also to try and solve this Lurching and surging problem, I replace the DME Relay under the Seat. Also replaced the Head Tempature Sensor. Still this problem exist.
When I am driving at low RPM's all of a sudden my 911 will surge and lurch. Than if I step on the excelerator, my 911 shuts off! Can anyone relate and help?
Thanks,
Bill Archival

Yes, reference and cylinder head temperature sensor. They typically start to disintigrate over the years and heat (they usually lie next to the heat exhanger tubes)
Here's what mine looked liked on a 56,000 mile car. I know if this is possible - there are alot that are worse than mine.
