Default HELP - Problem finishing up Turbo Tie Rod install.

Install went smoothly, as expected putting the existing spring over the inner boot was a pain.

However, as you can see in the pic the new spring supplied with the clip is too large to fit over the outer end of the booty. The boot rests on the rubber ring on the tie rod, exactly where it's supposed to be. It looks exactly like Fig. 3 on page 152 of "101 Projects..." except that my spring is too big.

Did I do something wrong?

Ulrich that's funny. That new spring you are looking at was for the inner, There is no spring used on the outer.. I hate to tell you this .. but you are finished .. go have a beer !!!

zip ties on the outter and springs on the inner. I don't know that that's officially proper, but the ones on my car have been that way for a long time. Until tomorrow when I get violent with the rack because I think it's trashed.

Ahhhh, I see. "101 Projects...." said to reuse the existing inner spring. That's how I wound up thinking this is for the outer one.

Thanks guys.
