Default Front Pulley Seal/Intermediate shaft cover

I removed some of the engine tin, front support, cover, exhaust ...in order to view the pulley seal...there appears to be quite a build up of oil beneath the pulley and around the intermediate shaft seal. I'm replacing the pulley seal, but do I need to do anything with the intermediate shaft seal, is there a gasket there?

slot: The intermediate shaft cover has an o-ring. Regarding the seal in # 8 main bearing, also clean the outside of the bearing/case area the same way that you did the oil tube recesses at the engine oil cooler. Apply J-B Weld all the way around the bearing, allowing the mixture to also bond with the engine case. This will stop any very light seepage that might be getting past the bearing o-ring.

Default another question...

Do I need to mark the orientation of the crankshaft pulley before I remove it? I'm going to adjust the valves first, then tackle the pulley seal. How do I know the pulley lines up at TDC when I put it back on, after replacing the seal? Hopefully this make since...

The pulley has a "key" that automatically holds it where it belongs...
