Default Oil breather cover gasket replacement

I've heard it's possible to install the gasket incorectly (upside down). Is this true...? I've also heard that some folks use RTV sealant on both sides of the gasket...is this proper technique? I planned on cleaining the area with alcohol swabs and then replace dry...any issues?

Replace dry - no modern-day gaskets require sealant in addition to the gasket... MEK or laquer thinner are the two best cleaning solutions, along with the very careful use of a new single-edge razor blade if needed. Don't worry about upside-down - it's obvious how it fits.

Please be careful if you use MEK, it is particularily nasty stuff, use eye protection and gloves.

Cheers
