Default Wheel Guard

Why do some 911s have a black wheel guard on the front of the rear wheelwell? What exactly is it? Was it standard, an option or an after-market product. Thank you.

It is a stone gaurd that was originally on the 930s and later made available for SCs and Carreras....it prects the flare from rock chips created by the front tires kicking up road debris.....

Heat gun or hair dryer should do the trick....warm it just enough to losen the adhesive....might have to use some mineral spirits to get all the adhesive off....Personally I don't like them....they help on 930s with the wide flares....but if it was my car I would take them off...but that is just me....some swear by them.....its a matter of personal preference

I hear there are also magnetic ones - but I have not been able to find any.
