Default DALLAS EURO CARS *Reference Check*

Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with Jim Lenington at Dallas Euro Cars in Dallas, TX? He is currently performing an AC upgrade to my 87 Carrera Cabriolet and I am considering him for a total rebuild with performance upgrades. Thank you.

I am not familiar with Dallas Euro Cars but I can say that I have had very good advice and service from Autoscope in Plano.

From what I see on Dallas Euro Cars' website, it looks like they have had some nice cars through their doors.

Jim's a good guy and knows what he's talking about. He's done work on my cars for YEARS, including when he was at another very good shop in Dallas (Loudens) but this was back in my BMW days. I had been away from Dallas but I'd let him work on my car (and he has).

I have heard good things about Jim including he is very meticulous. He has worked on my car but nothing major yet, but what he has done (SS brake lines) has been fine. I think he's a good guy and trust him to work on my car.

He has a clean shop, a reasonable distance from me. One thing I like -- which ties in with the meticulous comment -- is he has an eye for concours, not just the mechanical work. He has done some very nice engine rebuilds that included cosmetics.

I plan to do an early 30k service on my car there in about a month . We will probably drop the motor, replace the sound pad and do some cosmetic freshening to the motor in addition to the service.

I have a question, not specifid to Dallas Eurocar necessarly, but how many shops do their own machine work on rebuilds? Do most shops actually ship some of this work out?
Just curious...
