WOW $35 for a single bit? Not trying to be cheap, but this seems crazy...

OK...did some research...the sockets are called triple square sockets not torx bits. I found a few sets for as little as $15 on various sites. Hopefully this will save someone some money down the road. Hopefully I can find the single bit I need at one of the auto parts stores tomorrow...if not I'll order on-line.

This tool is often refered as a triple square. It has limited uses so they dont sell so many of them. In addition to your flywheel they are often used on mercedes and audi cylinder heads. They are becoming more popular on newer german cars. If you want to scare yourself jump on a snap on tool truck and check some prices. Just remember cheap tools can cause more headache sometimes than the initial repair. flywheel bolts dont always come off easily so a good quality tool would be a better choice.

You should be able to find the triple square at any decent Autoparts store. I got a whole set at the first place I checked for my Audi CV joints ...and you thought hex's stripped out easy :-)..

Snapon has one for $29.25, Pt. No. STSM12E. Its a 1/2-in drive socket. Why not get the best to go with your car?
