Default 1984 911 Carrera A/C question

My temp switch for my A/C went bad so I purchased a new one under the part #911-613-121-01. When I match the part to the old one the new one is 1/2" to long and won't fit where the old one went. I also checked under part# 911-613-121-00 which was the orig. number, it also was the same and would not fit. If Porsche has upgraded to this switch how do you make it fit.. Anyone out there had the same problem ? Is there a fix from Porsche??? Or anyone know where to get the right switch!!!!

Thanks
Rich

What's the number on the old switch? May need to take to dealer and compare them.

The number on the old switch is 911-613-121-00.. I got the new switch from the dealer and they could not figure it out either..
