new to me 74 S

Default new to me 74 S

Hi Guys, I am starting on the restore of my 1974 911S and wanting to drain the fuel tank I raised the front and was going to remove the drain plug but cant find anything to fit .I went to sears,auto zone even a specialized tool store but cant find a allen wrench larger than a 17mm. any advise on what fits the plug and where to buy one? Thanks in advance for any help,Dave

Dave,

3 Things.

1. Congratulations on joining Rennlist and your Porsche. Please put some pics of it up.

2. When I needed to remove a large hex socket I got a big bolt and nut that fit into it and I welded the two together. Then a socket will fit the nut and the hex of the bolt will go into the drain plug.

3. I think you should change your 74 heat exchangers for something that gives you more power and then send your old ones to me!

thanks for the help ,now it looks like i need to have the tank cleaned i can feel gook in the bottem of the tank with my finger ,Dave
