Jack: Do you still have your old rear fender condenser? If so, want to sell it?

If you stick with the rear quarter and lid mounted condensors, route the A/C lines to the quarter condensor first. I'm not sure about Griffith's version, but mine was fan cooled. That will cool the refrigerant somewhat before it reaches the lid condensor, thus lowering your operating temps. You can also use a later model lid condensor that has more "runs of pipe" through it, for better efficiency.

I had an identical set-up in my late SC, and running R-12, the system would freeze you out of the car. Mind you it was an under-dash unit.

If you go to Performance Aire-website they have pictures of the under car condensor.

Scott -

Send me an email at jackolsen@attbi.com . I do still have the fender condenser.

You can see the underbelly one more on the earlier cars (without the side trim on the sills) than the later 911's, which have the lower side pieces.

Jack: You caught me just in time. I set it up to bring my car over to Performance Aire in mid May. I was going to place my order for the Griffith's Condenser this week to have it in time for the people at Performance Aire to incorporate the condenser into their system when it was installed. I had a big problem with the weight and placement of the Griffiths condenser but was more concerned with the abuse I know I would throw at the "under belly" condenser. Your picture says it all. Since you are from the same geographic area and are using your car for the same thing in the same places, and still endorse the under-belly application, I yeild to your experience. Thanks for such a compelling arguement. You have convinced me the Performance Aire system is the way to go! I'll be sure to post again when I can provide some info on the finished product.
