Can't have enough HP. Comparing a motorcycle to a car is not the same. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want an SC with flared fenders a tail and 400 hp. Don't know why it wouldn't be any less comfortabe. The power is there for you, you don't have to use the power all the time, but it is better having it. When my 930 comes on full boost you can feel the acceleration in your face. It begins to draw the line between exhillarating and scary. I amso happen to be selling it RENNLIST CLASSIFIED #5240. Awesome car! The power is totally addictive. I just can't afford to have 2. My new toy is the 993tt - totally different animal - it takes some of the of the raw pure fun away from the old cars. The power is linear. But I definitely reccommend lots of seat time in a high hp 930 on the track before ever trying a 993, 996, 997. The newer cars are so forgiving - to master the old cars with no power assisted anything (aside from windows and sunroof) no, psm, 4wd, etc will make you a far better driver than learing in one of the new ones. Not saying I ever fully mastered it, but my '02.

the 930's are terrific fun to drive and ride in....but a 996 turbo is on another planet altogether...it is an exponential jump in speed and what is more impressive is the stability and firmness of the car!

It's all about our senses, including vision, feel, and hearing. IMHO my '73 911 FEELS faster than the newer Carreras. Heck, you can go around a corner in a new Carrera floating over the road with the radio and AC going, on the phone, with one hand on the steering wheel at speeds that, if you were in a '73, you'd have both hands on the wheel, focused on the road, with the engine roaring, and tires biting. So, which one is faster? Well, on paper the 996 is way faster. But, when measured by your senses, the '73 is way faster.

I think there is a post over on another board that is talking about if driving a old 911 will make you a better driver than a newer car. Can't remember where it is but there were sure some good opinion's.
