Interesting - it makes sense, but I'd have thought that was a pretty strong weld to hold a static load.

Have you seen many arms damaged at that point?

randy: Quite honestly I never said what's being implied, nor did I ever say to use the small support arm or to even touch it or its weld.

Before you post a HUGE WARNING like that - you MIGHT want to actually THINK ABOUT what Pete said/posted. Like Pete, I have NO IDEA what the hell you are pulling that from... Yea - after 30 years of Porsche ownership, I've probably been under a 911 a lot more hours than even you - so I'm not in the least bit confuse over what Peter suggested. For that...

To me - it just sounds like you are trying to pull crap you "wanted" Pete to say, but never did - and trying to dump on him for whatever reason. If you have a personal issue with Pete - take it up with me off-line.
