Default Confused 911 firing order

hey there all:

I have a '88 911 3.2 carrera. It has been running rough so I changed the plugs, wires, etc. I had a BOSCH distributor and swaped it out for a BREMI... the problem is the Bosch cap says the plug configuration is:

1-5-3-6-4-4..the BREMI CAP reads 1-3-5-6-2-4 when I put the wires on according to the BREMI configuration the car wont start and coughs. If I configure the BREMI cap to 1-5-3-6-2-4 same problem.

SO what is the firing order on the cap SUPPOSE TO BE??? The cylinders should be configured on the left from the firewallas 3-2-1 on the right side 6--5-4.

So If anyone knows please let me know.

thanks..cabdriver

I believe it's 1-6-2-4-3-5, but we should let someone who has actually worked on a Porsche engine confirm that.

I'm still looking for my 911.

Firing order: 1,6,2,4,3,5

Looking into the engine compartment:
Left side, rear of car forward - 1,2,3
Right side, rear of car forward - 4,5,6

To further clarify, cyl #1 is closest to the ignition distributor; cyl #4 is closest to the A/C compressor.
