Default Updating 84 headlights to 87-89 look

Has anyone upgraded their pre-87 911 carrera headlights to the newer 87-89 style with the different rings? Need suggestions where to purchase the newer headlights and rings. Any help or advice with this project would be greatly appreciated.

Like Marc said, easy upgrade to the H4's. The 87-89 cars are actually using the H5's which IMHO are nowhere near as good as H4's.

Performance Products sells the H4 kit with the paintable rings including bulbs.

http://www.performanceproducts.com/p...Headlamps+(H4)

Performance Producdts has them for $167.95 (retail) each including the paintable trim ring and bulb.

Just take the rings off the new headlights, and take your gas filler cover off (3 Allen Head bolts in the drivers front fender) for color matching purposes, and take them to your local body & paint shop.

If you can get the actual paint code/name for your paint color, it would be of additonal help to the paint matching issue.

H5's are about $350 each, so H4's give you better light and cost less.

Great - thank you everyone for the help. I'll give Vertex and Performance a shout and get some lights and new trim rings ordered up.

Thanks, Dave
