Jackstand advise please...
Hello,
I am in the process of tearing down the entire front axle. I want to inspect and probably replace the A-arm bushings with polybronze. I want to remove both A arms, but the car is suspended right now with the jackstands under the front torsion bar covers. Wayne's book says to support the car from the bottom of the car near the seams of the sheet metal, but I don't think I understand that exactly. I am new to tearing down cars, and am a little afraid of the car falling on me, so I won't do anything now.
I started to remove the sway bar so I could pull the tie rod further down to get some leverage on it so I can replace it with a turbo tie rod. I took off the two brackets holding down the sway bar (toward the back of the car). My car doesn't have a belly pan I think. The book says not to use the cross member as a support.
I am wondering if I am trying to do too much. Any advise is appreciated. Thank you.

DONE!
That last photo did the trick. The jackstands didn't go up through the floor. In fact after you pointed it out, those points looked a little cleaner, so this is probably where the professional lift placed their lift. I still have two emergency jackstands under there as well as the 2 ton craftsman jack as well. But I am ready to try and remove the sway bar.
Thanks man!

I am already anticipating the day when I am done restoring this beauty, and I find myself browsing through the local paper's classifieds. Am I a sick man? Am I having fun yet? My buddy told me I need a girlfriend. This will have to do for today.
