Post Throttle free play

Hi, On an 81 911sc - how much free play should there be on initial tip in before you actuate the throttle and initiate revs. My car seems to have about a 1/2" of travel before anything meaningful happens.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, one half of an inch seems to be a bit a excessive. You should get a rev increase almost instantly. Have a mechanic check your linkages and throttle.
