Default IS THIS A GOOD QUOTE?

I always do the work for my 911 3.2 86 coupe. Since I am in the process of plannig a wedding etc I have no time to do my major service etc.

I called up an independant and I was quoted about 350.00 - 400.00 labor and I supply parts. The labor includes work for the following:

Trans Fluid Change
Valve Adjustment
Air filter change
Oil filter change
oil change
fuel filter change
plugs change
wires change
cap and rotor change.
etc etc.

any input appreciated.

I would say that is VERY reasonable considering he is going to do the valve adjustment for you , i would hope he would do the co2 adjustment also. It is worth it just for that , the rest is pretty straight forward, but who knows, maybe a good rennlister would come over for an afternoon and do it for you for a few bucks :-)

Agreed, that's a good quote for labor to complete that service.

Man, that's cheap labor... Some shops can charge over $400 just for the valve adjustment alone.

If you trust the shop and they do good work, go for it!

Seems very reasonable. Does the shop have a good reputation?

The guy doing the work is a master technician from porsche. He is going to to do the work on a weekend. he is going to charge me under the table and is not going through the shop. It makes it worth while for both me and him since he does not have to give a cut to the shop.

I wouldn't call it under the table. He should be free to work on his own, on his own time, at his own place... Sometimes there are contract terms that prohibit this - but usually not for a car mechanic - a top computer engineer, maybe or somebody likely to know important secrets...
