I'm looking for a couple of parts for my 1969 Porsche 911 e with a sportomaitc transmission. I'm having trouble figuring out what these parts are called, and or what the part numbers are. What I need is the seal that sits between the torque converter and the torque converter housing, and also the bering that seats in the torque converter and spins free on the turbine shaft. The bering is not your typical looking bering. It looks more like a spacer than a bering, because it is not a ball bering. I have looked through the factory manual, and also got schematics from Porsche, and still I'm having trouble figureing out which pats to order. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appriciate it, Thanks.

Have you got the official Porsche parts catalogue CD? It covers all models up to 2004 and is a copy of what appears on the PET system. If you can't find it there you are in trouble - exploded diagrams and part numbers. Cost just a few $ (< 10) part number p000.043.400.05, covers USA plus ROW cars.
Hope this helps.

Wicofleland--welcome to Rennlist!
Check the "sponsors" page on the main menu and I would bet that one of them has the part you need. Stick around and POST SOME PICTURES of that 1969 e!

I'm in the UK - your local Porsche dealership should be able to obtain the CD for you - if you don't know where that is try another message on the forum - someone in Northern Michigan will know.

Link to pdf version of parts manual on the porsche website. Keep us informed of your progress. I just got finished rebuilding my 72 sporto and will be re-assembling soon.

I looked into the CD for my year porsche at my local Porsche dealer, and they told me they don't go back that far in years. I also looked on the Porsche website and had the same problem.

The CD covers ALL Porsches from 1950 onwards - including your car. You are not seeking a CD for your car only but a parts CD that caters for ALL Porsche models from 1950 to 2004. Did you qoute the part number P000.043.400.05? It is called "Genuine Parts Catalogue". It covers both USA and rest of world cars so MUST be available in the US. Push them hard - so many dealers find it easier to say "it doesn't exist" - if they persist send an Email to Porsche Cars North America.
I had a similar problem with the small technical booklets (less than A5 size) that were re-printed last year - my local Porsche Centre said they were unavailable - I told them c---p and to go and find them (they were being advertised in the factory Porsche Clubs magazine) - even Porsche Cars Great Britain, the equivilant of PCNA, said the same; I pushed them into contacting Germany and guess what? They were available - it just required a bit of effort on their part - lazy I call it. So push hard.
The CD says "suggestions regarding this CD should be sent to et-preise@porsche.de" so give this to your dealer to follow up.
