Post Brake pad preference

Planning ahead for spring maintenance... I am interested in replacing my brake pads before I really need to. I am interested in brand and source for brake pads which are appropriate for a street Carerra. Also, do I need to do both front and rear? How long do conventional brake pads last? Thanks.

I made the classic mistake of asking before looking. My brake pad question is answered well in prior reply. Thanks anyway.

For a street driven 86 Carrera, factory pads work fine. One source is Hendrick Porsche (discounts 20-30%, 800-315-8193, no affiliation, etc) or see what Vertex has to offer (check the total cost, which can include a 3% credit card fee, and handling fee in addition to shipping charges). If you wanted to go to pads that are more dust free, there are several choices, or if you wanted to go to pads that were a bit more aggressive, there are several choices.

I second Hendricks, the price is great and the BOX says PORSCHE. I just bought a chain tensioner upgrade kit, price beat the hell out of all major vendors + it says PORSCHE on the boxes and was the correct stuff. Asker for KeNN with "two N's". Bill, thanks for the reference
